Overview
We partnered with Sweet Dreamers to build the companion app for Misty the Cloud, its smart nursery device. The app pairs with the physical night light over Bluetooth, giving parents remote control over the same modes available on the device — temperature, sleep trainer, and light shows — plus scheduling and parental controls they can’t get from the buttons alone.
The challenge
Misty the Cloud worked well as a standalone device, but parents had no way to check the room temperature, adjust the sleep trainer, or change a light show from outside the nursery. Every change meant walking over and pressing buttons on the device itself.
The solution
Bluetooth pairing flow that connects the app to the physical device in seconds
Remote control of all three device modes — temperature, sleep trainer, light shows — from the parent’s phone
Sleep schedules and light-show timers parents can set and adjust without touching the device
Parental lock managed from the app, not just the device buttons
Built on React Native for a single codebase across iOS and Android
Results
Parents can now set up and adjust Misty the Cloud entirely from their phone — no more walking over to the nursery to change a setting.
